#ClassinCafe
I have always loved the idea of meeting new people with the same interest as I am, be it in photography or business in general. Trust me, I can talk for hours about it especially if you have very unique insight or any crazy ideas - you will see my eyes sparkle!
I also love the idea of going to cafes, sipping my coffee, eat pretty and delicious food while doing work. I have a list of cafes that I want to go in Klang Valley area and the list keeps growing without I have the time to tick any one off - that’s how busy my weekends are.
So, one day it crossed my mind to do something that combined both of the things that I love but looking at my schedule, I just let the idea fade away. Until recently, I was just laying on my bed, thinking what else can I add on my plate since my schedule is looking pretty clear for the next couple of weeks and I finally have this website up and running, I posted on Instagram story about hosting a sharing session without even thinking of the venue. And while I was scrolling down my feed, I saw someone posted a very photo of food and it tagged The Mechanic Cafe. And instantly, I got a few inquiries about the sharing session and guess what, I just came out that it will be at The Mechanic Cafe at 12pm. I was that random!
Honestly, I never thought a lot of people would be interested but I was so overwhelmed by the response. Out of all, I only got to pick 4 people because I don’t want it to be crowded and I figured it would be difficult to pay attention to everyone if there is too many people. So the day finally came and I was actually quite nervous when I got to the place. One after another came and we started talking and that was when my nerve calmed down. It’s the same feeling as meeting the client for the first time but whenever I got down to the business, nothing else seems to matter.
The thing that I love about doing this (will probably have another session very soon) is that it’s not all about me. It is a sharing session so everyone is open to give their opinion and share their knowledge, at the same time we got to meet new people and extend our source of information. I am so glad I finally did it and I hope to bring more people together to share our insights because I believe there is no use of keeping the knowledge to ourselves, like the elderly said “The more you give, the more you get back” right?
Biggest appreciation to Nami, Hanani, Azri, and Amirul for joining the fun Sunday till I forgot to have my lunch and regret it later during my family portraiture session *classic Areena. And especially to Nami for capturing moments during the session because we all had so much fun that we forgot to document it. I cannot wait for the next one so keep your eyes out on that! Oh before I forgot, since this thing will be held in cafe and I am all about that cliche phrase, I named it as #ClassinCafe although I hate to call it a class because the actual concept of a class would be a learning session between a teacher and students and in this session, everyone is equally beneficial to the other but it’s just how I like to call it
