I am a little nervous to publish this because first, Rafi and Shaza were the first couple who ever flew me out not to any nearby country, it was to Los freaking Angeles, back in May 2018, to shoot their post wedding/honeymoon there. I was so excited to go back to the US (used up all my Annual Leave - I was still working as an engineer at that time, but seriously no regret at all) because it feels like home to me and to do my first post wedding shoot was just such an incredible experience. It was the best time of my life and not to lie the highest point of my career as a photographer although I was just started out. Thank you so much for believing in me Shaza and Rafi. Note: I only met Shaza once (for 5 mins) a few days before the flight and met both of them in LA since they were flying out from New York.

Secondly, I am nervous because it was my first intimate and casual maternity session, done in a hotel room, around sunset which was pitched black because it was raining outside but I think we executed it pretty well. I’ve done quite a number of maternity sessions but all of them were done outdoor, at location of my choice as well as the time hence I know what to expect. But for this one, I did not really have any expectation (lighting-wise, what outfits would they be wearing, etc) but I came prepared with some revision, shout out to Pinterest for the ideas! Shaza being herself, all goofy yet still beautiful and natural, made it so easy for me and somehow she unleashed the potentials inside her husband’s as well. I seriously have no idea how she still look so hot and her jawline, gosh it’s sharper than my kitchen knife! We started off quite slow but once we had the momentum, we couldn’t stop! (Ask Rafi for validation haha he kept on β€œMore?” β€œAre we done yet?”). Shaza had more than 3 outfit changes within the hour.

Yet I am still nervous because the turnout is a bit different from my usual bright and airy style. Nonetheless, I am still very happy and getting good feedback from Shaza made me feel so much better. Thank you again Shaza and Rafi for giving me the opportunity to document another important moments of your lives. I cannot wait to see the baby!
