Projek Tanah Angan
Sooo, how do I start this? It’s been too long, I forgot how to start a blog lol. Alright basically I met Arinna on my friend’s engagement that I shot, her name’s Aisyah (yes, I know, Aisyah and Arinna, and there’s me, Aisyah Areena). And just like a a month after, we went to an impromptu weekend trip to Penang. And on the drive to Penang, we talked about what we love to do and all that jazz. I found that question so difficult because I realized I love my job so much, I do it almost all the time (or at least something related to it). And one thing lead to another, Arinna told me she likes to organize a shoot, having people in the creative industry come together, express their souls, get out of their comfort zone and try something new. And so she told me that she was in the midst of arranging a creative shoot, with collaboration with a few local brands that could use the exposure. And I straight up told her that I want to join the shoot because it sounded very interesting. Just a few weeks after, she asked me to become the main photographer for the project and I was EXCITED *screaming!
So the photoshoot was done in a beautiful studio owned by the ever so gorgeous, Wan Nur Syaira, which she also even prepared food that clearly would cater to double of our group, how generous. And she had her 2 very helpful assistants, Aisha and Syakila; so so grateful for them because we kinda need to rush halfway through. And the model, who else, Arinna herself (girl need no introduction duhh) and her amazing make up was done by Att Yusof (still a bit sad she didn’t come to the studio otherwise it’d be double fun), the setup was from Hanna from jolieflowerkl, outfits were from WNS too, cute clay earrings from batubatashop and heels were from Nelissa Hilman. Oh not to forget, the only male in the project, Nabil Hussin, the videographer, whom I’ve worked with a few times too so it was so easy to navigate throughout the shoot. So here are some of the BTS that I got to capture;
I was so honored and happy to be given the opportunity to be a part of this amazing project alongside with these incredible and mostly talented individuals and was so glad that it was a success! It’s always so refreshing to be doing something other than events and I must say I want to do this more often. Getting out of my comfort zone, my usual tone, my strictly aligned and proportioned composition; these are the things that I need to improve more and would definitely help me to build more confidence and hopefully opening more opportunities in the future.
*I will share the photos from the shoot soon!
