Hidayah & Erzan

I have been looking forward all year for this wedding because:
1) we’ve talked about this since late last year. Hidayah was one of the first few people I broke the news that I’m moving out of the country
2) which at the point, the idea was, she wanted to have her nikah at a mosque in London, the same mosque her parents got married, in the same season, spring 🌸🌼
3. We had a long chat, felt like a long lost friends instantly with her, about life, living abroad, her wedding visions, and all that jazz.
But after a few months, she told me that they decided to do the nikah in her hometown, in KK, because she thought it must be uncomfortable for her grandma to be on a longhaul flight to London, and knowing her and how selfless she is, I totally get it, even thought I was already so excited for my first ever wedding in London (supposedly).
And to honor her late grandfather who couldn’t witness her wedding day, she chose arwah’s birthday as her wedding date, since her parents got married on her grandma’s birthday. I tell you, Hidayah is the most thoughtful person I’ve ever known. Every decisions have a strong reason and I love her for that.

That also lead her to being the most intentional bride, planning her own wedding all the way from London, connecting the best vendors in Borneo and West MY, having 30 bridesmaids and groomsmen, flew them all the way from all over the 🌍 , making sure everyone have more than what they need, being the type A destination wedding host, giving the guests a true Borneo experiences from performances to handpicked goodies, to name a few.

Her attention to details are out of this world. I love that she incorporate little things in her details; ie: the tiny aeroplane on her henna, to symbolize the airport where she and Erzan first met, her something blue, which were all of her family and girls, the orchids in their hair as her fav flower, but among all, I also love that she confidently thought she didn’t need her IC to get married 😅
But can we also take a moment for Erzan who literally never stopped smiling, from the start till the end. This couple is truly the most confident and comfortable with each other and it shows!

Can we focus on how Erzan walked in the reception hall like he just won an award or something? Well he did get a Hidayah, that’s for sure (prayed for hidayah, get a Hidayah Iwani). We love this #couplepalingconfident . The reception of Hidayah & Erzan was full of laughters, tears of joy and endless surprises; from a song that her dad wrote, performed live for the first time by the band, specifically for his one and only daughter that got her garang mom teared up, to Hidayah surprising her loved ones, with not 1, not 2 but 3 whole cakes for their birthdays. I mean, its the day people come together to celebrate HER but she pulled an uno reverse on them. And the spontaneous first dance to Misha Omar’s Bunga bunga cinta? Thank goodness she ditched her Jimmy Choos for Bata Comfit, otherwise there wont be any twirling 💃🏻 happening that day #teambata . Can we also take a moment for the cake 🍰 ? I almost lick my screen cause that looks so delish. It’s a little piece of Italy, to symbolize the place where Erzan get on his knee and proposed to Hidayah, in Lake Como. Like I mentioned, every decisions were intentional and the wedding was thoroughly curated to the littlest details. Did I mention, she even designed the menu card? In true fashion of @hidayahcooks & @erzaneats (their passion, other than graphic design 🤪), every single thing on the menu was tasted and chosen by them. They flew from London back to Malaysia for it. Anyway, as if the day couldn’t get any more perfect, the sunset that day, truly was like a painting. It’s like the whole universe was coming together to celebrate their bunga bunga cinta day.
