Ahna & Shauqi

First wedding that was totally run by my trusted friends, safe to say I get major fomo while editing it because it looked so fun and emotional, just how I liked it. I had to ask Ahna why they were laughing so hard on this first frame. She said because they did not rehearse for the wedding, they didn’t know you were supposed to just cut only a tiny bit of the cake but they did all the way thru the 2 tiers and the knife broke. She also said that Syauqi struggle to put the ring on her cs her fingers were all swollen from allergic reaction 2 days prior to the wedding. These “imperfections” are the kind of things that you will cherish when you tell your kids and grandkids while looking back at your wedding photos.

I just love how hard Ahna laugh and cry, she feels all the feelings she should be feeling, deeply, and I’m sure that’s how hard she loves. I can see from the way everyone treat her, it’s a reflection of her own treatment towards them. I see how she fixed her sister’s makeup even before the nikah, and after, when they all cried to her heartfelt speech, and she also did the same. They’re just so many real emotions going on and I 🤝🏻emotional.

Another thing that’s quite different in their wedding is both Syauqi and Ahna’s dad performed solat sunat together before the akad. I have never seen that in any other weddings. I always remember in every nikah, tok kadi will ask everyone to say Astaghfirullah 3x before the akad starts. The act of asking forgiveness and barakah before starting a new life, a new family, is such a noble thing to do, and to do it with the first love of the woman that you love, is truly something.

I may not be able to know the contents of the speeches from her siblings (biggest fomo) but I just know whatever they said were truly sincere and heartfelt and carries so much meaning and manifestation of their hopes and love for their beloved big sister 🤍
